Mag4you.com: How Long You Have Been Involved In Media?
Started my carrier as a Graphics Designer in 1999, before that i was into making music and was working as a session artist. Now working on my own Album and also doing Studio Sessions.
Mag4you.com: What Had Inspired You In Making Music?
I use to play a CT-70 Casio Keyboard when I was 8 Years old (1985). I performed as a Keyboard player in my school during a few functions. My close friend Atif use to pump me up to do music. My inspiration as a guitarist was Mr. Rizwan Khan from the band Final Cut. My elder brother Saqib bought me a guitar. I started playing Guitars in 1991 in a school band named ROCK R US. Fortunately, I met Rizwan Khan and learned music theory from him. Later in 1995, I joined VERSES and launched a single named YADEIN which was a production of Shehzad Hassan from Vital Signs. VERSES was a perfect lineup till yet as a band for me. After the band got split, I started doing Session Playing with Mohsin Javaid for PTV, Private Productions and different Artists during 1998 – 2000. I had a band with Mohsin by the name of AASAAR, we got selected in the top 20 bands of Pakistan in the Pepsi Battle of the bands (2002). Also have worked with Shehzad Mukhtar (Ganda Banda & 3D Cats), Abu Talib (Pivital Black) and Shehzad Naseem (Dead Sea Fruits).
Mag4you.com: How Has Your Experience With Pakistani Media Been So Far?
Well there is a lot of Talent in Pakistan. The media is supporting all these artists very well. Though if u start working with an artists who wants himself to be on top then it creates conflicts. I had these kind of problems with a few. That's the main reason I decided to work as a solo artist. The media is there for you to boost you up, so mostly the artists fails because of financial reasons.
Mag4you.com: A Media Revolution Seems To Be In Session In Pakistan, Mostly Through Music. Would You Say This Applies To Other Fields Of Media As Well?
It does, Music Video's are the main source of showing up the Creativity and Technicality of Work that our Directors are doing here in Pakistan, I'd say the Media is better then our neighbor countries. Advertisement, Publishing media, TV Channels, Current affair media, all these fields are taking advantage of these revolutionary changes. Resulting in more Employment :), Communication, Coverage and far much better work.
Mag4you.com: What about your music education?
Initially I learned a few tunes on a Guitar by my brother Saqib. I took theory lessons from Mr. Rizwan Khan (Final Cut). Ali Mustafa (DJ Ali) has also helped me with my playing and knowledge of Power Chords. After that, I have just learned from my Musical Gathering and Self Experimentations.
Mag4you.com: Tell us about your music equipments.
My First Guitar was an Indian Acoustic Guitar, Later i use to borrow Electric from my band mate in ROCK R' US, then I bought a Washburn Flying 'V' Guitar and learned to play on it. I was really inspired by the style of SLASH (Gun's n Roses) so i bought a Copy Lespaul Standard Guitar. Later I got my hands on a YAMAHA RGX121D and I feel in love with Yamaha Guitars after that. Still looking forward to buy a YAMAHA RGX420S Guitar or a Pacifica. Else, I'll buy a Fender Start (Richie Sambora Series) Guitar. Currently, I do have a Sunburn Electric Acoustic and a Jackson Performer Series Electric. I work on Computer Softwares to produce and Record my music at home. I use Effects of BOSS and looking for a Good Amplier (Do u have any??).
Mag4you.com: Tell Us About Your Recordings (describe your style and every recording)?
I have worked as a recording artist. Worked with many new comers and some well know musicians as well like Mr. Mohsin Javaid (Son of Mr. Javaid Allah Ditta), Ali Mustafa, Shehzad Mukhtar (Ganda Banda), Shehzad Naseem (Dead Sea Fruits), Khurram Farooq and Farrukh Ahmed (No Idea), and worked with many Solo Artist (Don't even remember their names). Being a Session Player I have really learn a lot playing different sort of music from Pop and Rock to Spanish and Mexican Music. Also have worked for PTV Drama Serials and Private Productions as a background musician.
I have also played Bass in some sessions. Particularly I like to play Hard Rock and Melodic stuff but it depends on the demand of the Producer and Composer.
Mag4you.com: What We Can Expect From "Sayyam Rana" In The Future? Have You Chalked Out An Entire Plan. If So, Please To Share It With Us?
I am currently working on my Record. My Record will be a Theme Album which is based on the major events and happenings through out my entire life till now. So its kind of Story Teller Album. I shared my experiences through out the album with the Listeners so that they can learn something out of it.
I cant say how much time it will take to complete it because its still under process. Currently, my songs are produced by Ali Mustafa (DJ Ali) and Mohsin Javaid is also helping me out with the Compositions and Production.

Hard Rock, Metal (Melodic and Technical), Progressive Rock, Glam Rock, Country Western, Classical. Melody should be there in the music.

Movie Love songs. I Hate Them Man.

I have performed for live audiences a lot. I had great experiences performing live.

Mag4you.com: What do you think about other Pakistani artists?
They all are doing their best. They all are great and I appreciate all of them. I don't like bands who hire Musicians for them to play and on main screen they pretend that they played it by them selves. Money is not everything, Show your skills man Grow Up. Also, I don't like those who are on top in the industry but cannot play their own songs live on Stage.

I like bands from the 80's and 90's, bands like Scorpions, Europe, Firehouse, Bon jOvi, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Diar Straits, Motley Crew, Dokken, Evanescence, Iron Madien and many other Glam Rock bands. I do listen to all kind of music which is good and Melodic. In Pakistani Musicians I like Vital Signs, Final Cut, Faraz Anwer, Fuzon, Mekaal Hassan and My favorite female singer was Candy (Milestones). New Artists like Aaroh, Noori and EP are doing real nice music.
