Wateli Dal
| Ingredients: |

| Bengal gram, split |
225 gms. |
| Green chilies |
6 nos. |
| Cumin seeds |
1½ tsp. |
| Turmeric powder |
½ tsp. |
| Chili powder |
½ tsp. |
| Salt |
To taste. |
| For the tempering |
|
| Mustard seeds |
½ tsp. |
| Asafoetida |
½ tsp. |
| Coriander, chopped |
½ cup |
| Oil |
3 tbsps. |

Method:
- Soak the dal overnight in water and in the morning grind it along with the 3 green chilies,¾ tsp.cumin seeds, salt and a little water.
- Heat oil in a pan, add the mustard seeds and when they start crackling, add the Asafoetida, cumin seeds and green chilies.
- Next add the gram mixture, turmeric and chili powder with 1 cup water.
- Cover and cook over a low flame.
- Once all the water has evaporated and the gram becomes soft remove and serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
