Spaghetti with meatballs

Ingredients:

400g spaghetti

For meatballs
1/2 kg chicken or beef mince
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
Oil for shallow frying

For sauce
1 cup tomato pulp, without skin
1 cup tomato sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1 onion, cut into small pieces
10 cloves of garlic diced
1 tsp rosemary
2 tsp basil
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp thyme
2 tbsp olive oil

Method:

  • Boil the spaghetti, drain and keep aside.
  • To prepare meatballs, add all the ingredients and mix gently.
  • Make small balls and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, preferably a non-stick one, and cook meatballs on medium to low flame.
  • To make the sauce, heat oil in a large skillet and add garlic.
  • After a couple of minutes add the tomato pulp and crush completely.
  • When it starts boiling add all the seasoning, meatballs and a little water if needed.
  • Boil for a few minutes.
  • Pour the sauce and meatballs over the spaghetti and serve hot.
  • Garnish with oregano leaves.
