Fruit trifle
| Ingredients:
1 tin of mixed fruit 1-1/4 cup fresh cream 2 cup vanilla custard 4 tbsp orange juice 4 ounces apple jam 6 ounces sponge cake, cubed Almonds, toasted and sliced For vanilla custard 1/2 litre milk 2 tbsp custard powder 4 tbsp sugar |

Method:
- For vanilla custard, take two tablespoons of custard powder in a bowl and mix in some milk.
- Mix sugar in the remaining milk.
- Bring to a boil while stirring continuously.
- Add custard mix to the milk.
- Spread half of the cake pieces on the bottom of a serving bowl.
- Dilute the jam with orange juice and spread the mixture evenly on cake cubes.
- Spread a layer of mixed fruits on the cake.
- Pour half of the custard over the fruits and cake.
- Repeat the layers of moistened cake, jam, fruits and custard.
- Cover and chill for at least two hours.
- Before serving, spread whipped cream evenly on top.
- Top with toasted, sliced almonds and mixed fruits.
