Basboosa Cake

Ingredients:

Butter 4 oz
Castor sugar 5 oz
Vanilla extract 1 tsp
Eggs 2
Semolina 2 cups
Baking powder 1 tsp
Baking soda 1/2 tsp
Yoghurt 6 oz
Almonds for garnishing
Cream for garnishing
Syrup ingredients:
Sugar (granulated) 2 cups
Water 1 1/2 cup
Lemon juice 1 tbsp

Method:

  • In a pan add sugar, water and lemon juice and cook on low fire till the sugar dissolves
  • Add cool syrup over hot cake and serve with cream
  • The sweet dessert is ready to be served
  • Start by mixing butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and whish until light n Then add in eggs one after the other
  • Sift semolina, baking powder and baking soda together
  • Fold into the mixture that included butter, vanilla extract etc and add yogurt in the end
  • Spread the batter in a greased dish and sprinkle almonds on top
  • Bake for 30- 35 minutes
