Paris Sues Website
Paris Hilton has taken action. She's now suing a website selling access to her personal belongings.
Paris filed a federal lawsuit on Monday, seeking to shut down the website ParisExposed.com. For a monthly fee of £19.99, users of the website can gain access to hundreds of hours of video diaries, private phone numbers, bank statements and personal emails once belonging to the heiress.
In the lawsuit, Paris' lawyer Gregory Korn contended: "Unscrupulous individuals can use such information to steal Hilton's identity, or even worse, to stalk and even physically harm Hilton."
The items went into a 6,000-square-foot storage unit two years ago after a burglary at the heiress' previous home. Paris claimed a moving company was meant to pay the storage fees, but failed to do so.
The lawsuit alleged defendants Nabil and Nabila Haniss of Culver City, California purchased the items for £1,460. The goods were then reportedly sold for £5.2 million to entrepreneur Bardia Persa, creator of In a statement accompanying the lawsuit, Paris said: "I was appalled to learn that people are exploiting my and my sisters' private personal belongings for commercial gain."
