The 53-year-old singer is said to have insisted on having the state-of-the-art mat - complete with a platform that could be raised to ceiling level - installed in her room at the Marriott hotel in Indianapolis where she stayed in the run-up to Sunday's (05.02.12) performance.

A source told US Weekly that the fitness-mad star even brought her own instructor along for the seven day trip, and had heat pumped into the room for her yoga sessions.

But the mother-of-four - who used to follow a strict macrobiotic diet - later rewarded herself and her crew for all their hard work by ordering in 50 pizza pies from Papa John's, with Madonna plumping for a veggie pie with no cheese.

Meanwhile, her halftime performance - which included the hits 'Vogue', 'Music', 'Give Me All Your Luvin' and 'Like a Prayer' - was more popular than the actual game, according to TiVo.

The media company reveals that based on the amount of times that viewers rewound the footage to watch again, Madonna's show was 16 per cent more popular.
