Peter Andre has adopted a pet pug called Charlie from London's Battersea Dog's Home.

The 'Behind Closed Doors' singer took on board the mutt - named Charlie - from Battersea Dog's Home in London after he was left when his owners moved abroad, and he admits his children Junior, six, and Princess Tiaamii, four, are getting on with him.

Peter wrote on twitter: "Welcome Charlie Pug :))) we love him. He is a dude.

Got Liam THE best bday pressie ever! (sic)

"He was a rescue Pug at Battersea and me J and P spent some time there and Loved the little champ. The other owners were apparently very good but had to move overseas I'm sure he was really loved by them too . One of us already. (sic)"

Peter is not the only celebrity to have recently acquired a new dog.

Miley Cyrus bought her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth a puppy for his 22nd birthday.

She tweeted: "Got Liam THE best bday pressie ever! (sic)"

Miley then posted a picture of the dog, named Ziggy, and when a fan tweeted that she was under the impression the dog's name was Daisy Dukes, Miley added: "Liam wanted to name her that! I said NOOO WAY! Shes an angel! (sic)"
