Blanchett Refuses To Let Paparazzi Win Blanchett Refuses To Let Paparazzi Win.
Oscar winner Cate Blanchett refuses to be stressed out by paparazzi photographers, because she understands the attention comes hand in hand with being a Hollywood star.
The actress' new film BABEL recently picked up a Golden Globe award for Best Picture while she was also nominated for her supporting role in Notes On A Scandal.
Playing down her celebrity status, Blanchett says, "It's annoying when photographers follow you around, but you don't let them win.
"We all live in a goldfish bowl. People know what TV station we're tuned into, what newspapers we receive. We're all monitored in some way, it's just that some of us have more of it than others."
Blanchett's Husband Compares Style To Reynolds Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett's credibility as a style icon has been questioned by her own husband, who has likened the Babel star to Hollywood veteran Burt Reynolds.
Dressed in grey, checked trousers by designer Alexander Mcqueen and a matching waistcoat over a light blue shirt, her writer partner Andrew Upton compared Blanchett's look to that of the Smokey And The Bandit actor.
She recalls, "Just before I left this morning, he said, 'You look fantastic.
Dressed like that, you remind me of someone.' "I said, 'Oh really? Who? I was waiting for this enormous compliment. He thought for a bit and said, 'Burt Reynolds.'"
