Anthony Hopkins Daughter Rubbishes Suicide Claims  Hopkins' Daughter: 'i Was Not Suicidal'.
Sir Anthony Hopkins' only daughter Abigail Hopkins has angrily dismissed reports she once tried to commit suicide because of her troubled relationship with her father.
The singer/songwriter, who hasn't spoken to Hopkins for five years, revealed in a previous interview that she left university at eighteen after having a breakdown.
She said, "I bottled up so much emotion in my childhood, it caused my mind to go. I came very close to killing myself. It was the worst time I can remember.
"I totally abused my mind and body. The root cause was that my father and I had an intermittent relationship when I was young."
However, she now plays down the episode, saying, "Look. It was a relatively short addiction. I was confused. Angry. And I did not try to kill myself."
