Rajiv (Shashi Kapoor), an engineer comes to a village to oversee the repair
of a dam. He gets bewitched by Roopa’s (Zeenat Aman) angelic voice and he
marries her. When he sees that she has a scarred face, he leaves her even though
she is pregnant. The same night, heavy rain causes the dam to burst and the
village gets flooded. On the verge of losing his beloved and his child, he
realizes his folly and sets out in search of Roopa.
