Bachchan's only movie with yesteryear's actress Mala Sinha. Mala Sinha is a
poor girl. Her marriage with Bachchan breaks down when Bachchan's family objects
to her being uneducated and poor. Later Bachchan's re-marries Aruna Irani.
Mala Sinha goes on to higher education and becomes a successful
political/intellectual figure in town. As fate might have it, Bachchan's family
(wife and two kids) is forced to take favors from Mala Sinha. She has her
revenge and causes tension in the Bachchan marriage.
