Mili (Urmila Matondkar) a junior artist in films dreams of making it big on
the silver screen. Her childhood friend Munna (Aamir Khan) encourages her to
pursue her dreams. When a superstar Rajkamal (Jackie Shroff) spots her on the
beach, he asks the director to give her a break opposite him. Munna, meanwhile,
comes to realise that he loves Mili but doesn't dare confess his love to her as
he is petrified that she might reject him. Rajkamal finds her fascinating as she
treats him as a friend rather than a star. On the day of the premiere, Munna
decides to leave town.
