Although Samar Khan is well-known as a Bollywood journalist, he’s decided to switch jobs. Instead of writing about Indian films, he’s directing one! Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye is Samar’s directorial debut and its also the first time Shemaroo, a market leader in the Indian Home Video Entertainment, has stepped into the world of film production. The romantic comedy stars Arshad Warsi, Mahima Chaudhary, Pravin Dabas and Sachin Khedekar. Oh, lets not forget superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who makes a special appearance in the flick. Kuchh Meetha Ho Jaye is primarly based at a smalltime airport, where the audience is introduced to a variety of characters. They are stuck at the airport with their flight being delayed and their lives come to a screeching halt… a perfect opportunity to look at their lives and present relationships. Amongst those stranded at the airport are the starry-eyed teenage lovers, the bachelor caught between a couple of bachelorettes, the newly weds who are already fighting their way to honeymoon and the divorced who don’t know why they are fighting anymore. Adding confusion to this mayhem is the assistant airport manager with a wacky sense of humor and the colorful nitwit with a signal problem! Each of these characters tell a story that signifies that the idea of romance goes beyond the boundaries of age that love can be found at 16 or 60 and anywhere in between. They mirror the crazy characters we meet who make our journey more enjoyable. The characters throw light on the funny side of the seemingly unfortunate situation, also highlighting the emotional undercurrents. Sprinkled with light-hearted humor and warm abandon, the film explores the loves and lives of these travelers during a small delay that becomes an uncertain wait.
