Awadesh Pratap Singh (Vinod Khanna) is a tough, dedicated cop, who has risen
to the high rank of Commissioner of Police through dint of sheer hard work and
commitment to the profession. He belongs to the older school of thought and
plays strictly by the rules. His son, Abhay (Bobby Deol) is an equally committed
cop, but believes that laws need to be modified to suit contemporary realities.
Father and son frequently clash about these issues, while mother (Rati Agnihotri)
watches helplessly.
Abhay’s girlfriend, Sanjana Roy (Amisha Patel) arrives from the United States to
complete her thesis on police methodology. Trouble comes in the form of Rana
Pratap (Kabir Bedi), a wealthy businessman whose commercial dealings are a front
for his terrorist activities. Abhay uncovers the truth and falls foul of the
powerful nexus that surrounds Rana Pratap. Abhay is framed in a trumped-up case
and imprisoned. His mother is shattered and finally his father realises that
traditional methods are not going to work in this case. Sometimes one has to
take the law into one’s own hands…..this action packed film is directed by
Naresh Malhotra and has music composed by Jatin - Lalit.
