Hero (Salman Khan) is an ambitious and fun loving guy who has a zest for life despite his impoverished upbringing. He works for a courier company, whose owner is Khanna (Shakti Kapoor). Hero has a soft corner for Rani (Rani Mukherjee). They both grow up together and live in the same neighborhood. Rani works as a nursery teacher and regards Hero as nothing more than a dear friend and confidante.

Rani's dream man is Vishal Singh (Arbaaz Khan). Vishal is a top Officer from Delhi Narcotics Division, recently transferred to Mumbai to combat the drug problem in the city. Vishal's investigations lead him to Khanna's courier company, which is being used as a front for illegal drug trafficking. But Hero is completely unaware of the company's involvement in the drug business and staunchly supports his boss Khanna, when Vishal confronts him with the truth. Vishal begins to suspect Hero as well. Then Khanna reveals his true colors and shoots both Hero and Vishal.
