Sarju (Rajendra Kumar) is a shepherd in a remote Himalayan valley. He is also
a gifted singer whose voice attracts the attention of a renowned musician,
Kamala (Mala Sinha) who’s on holiday there. She urges him to move to the city
and make his talent his profession but he refuses. Till circumstances compel him
to have to cash in on his gift. He earns fame and fortune but in a tragic turn
of events, he loses his voice. Now the only person who can sympathise is Kamala.
Kalyanji Anandji’s great tunes include ‘Mere Mitwa Mere Meet Re’ and ‘Jis Ke
Sapne’.
