Anari (1975) is a story of true and innocent love, which knows no status,
qualification, wealth, or such thing, but just the beatings of the heart. It
shows that, despite all obstacles and barriers that the cruel world may erect,
love always triumphs in the end. Rajnandini (Karishma Kapoor) is the beloved
sister of three brothers: Bhairaja (Suresh Oberoi), Manjleraja and Choteraja (Gulshan
Grover), who are big landowners and the terror of their village. An astrologer's
prediction during childhood that Nandini would get married against her brothers
wishes makes her brothers confine Nandini to the palace. Any outside male who
even sets eye on her is punished.
