Pushpa, a simple village girl, is turned out of her house by her husband as
she could not give him a child. She meets a man in the village who takes her to
Calcutta for a job. There she is cheated by him and is forced to take shelter in
a brothel.
Anand, a rich man of the city, is neglected by his ultra-modern wife. One day
while waking through a red-light neighborhood, he hears a song and is allured by
the melodious voice. He meets Pushpa, and eventually they fall in love.
Meanwhile, Nandu, a child who has always been neglected comes to Pushpa and
finds a mother in her.
Amar Prem (1972) is the story of these threee beautiful souls who encounter each other
and are bound by that wonderful emotion... Eternal Love.
