Here comes a movie that dares to be different. And to which extent? If the
basic plot of film is anything to go by, then 2 October Gandhi's India Today is
a film which has the time span of flat 36 hours. The film, it seems, starts with
a day of October 1 and ends while Gandhi's birth anniversary is going on.
Karan Abhyankar is a fearless and courageous police officer in the encounter
cell. He is deputed by the chief minister to kill an underworld criminal, Bhau,
in an encounter. Before he is able to do this, the chief minister calls a stop
to the operation because Bhau's aide has kidnapped the chief minister's son.
