Bari appointed Pakistan's interim chief selector

Wasim Bari, the former Pakistan wicketkeeper, has been appointed the interim chairman of selectors in place of Abdul Qadir, who quit last week.

Bari, who played 81 Tests for Pakistan, served two previous terms as chairman of selectors and was the PCB's director of human resources immediately before his latest appointment.

His first task, a PCB statement said, would be to pick the team for the tour of Sri Lanka in July, when Pakistan are due to play three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 international.

Qadir quit as chief selector on June 8, following differences with the PCB, which he accused of interfering in his duties.
