Sex is no longer a taboo in India. So is the cinema focusing on sex in Bollywood. Matters concerning sex like infidelity and adultery that were until recently considered sin are being witnessed in real life. Hence, these have now become subject matters of reels too. The movie titled 'Raat Gaayi Baat Gayi' falls in this genre of films.
Its director Saurabh Shukla avails the opportunity to cash on the audience's curiosity about sex and matters related with it. It's a strange movie inasmuch as it covers a night drama. Rahul played by Rajat Kapoor and Sophia played by Neha Dhupia undergo a wild night party.
Though Rajat is fully devoted to his wife and Dhupia has a boyfriend, they do mix with each other and play hide and seek that night. It's another matter that Rajat has too many drinks. When Rajat wakes up next morning he forgets everything.
In the meanwhile, Rahul's wife Mitali played by Iravati Harshe deserts her hubby. So, Rajat along with his friend Amit played by Vinay Pathak visits Saxena (Dalip Tahil) who had thrown the party. Rajat wants to know what had happened the night before as he remembers nothing except that of a remote corner in a crowded house.
Director Saurabh Shukla succeeded through his large and intelligent cast and their witty dialogues to depict an awkward incident that happens though sometimes in today's real life. Hence, it's worth a watch so as to avoid happening it in one's life. Significantly, the cast plays its roles to well.
Rajat Kapoor and Iravati Harshe aren't the un-happening characters though not occurring too often. Similarly, Dilip Tahil plays a writer and Navneet Nishan, a nice wife. So also Vinay Pathak and his wife Anuradha Menon, Ranveer Shorey as an artist and Neha Dhupia as a pretty and new wave girl. Overall, the movie is worth a watch, and not to miss because of its 'sexy' content.
