Making films on the characters who are not sound in health was once thought of as an uphill task. When Rajshri Films broke the ice with 'Dosti' in sixties and came back home with roaring success and numerous awards, then there was dull in the industry until Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bhaduri resurfaced in a film titled 'Koshish' playing deaf and dumb.

Not many filmmakers tried thier hands on this genre and it was in 'Aankhen' that saw Paresh Rawal, Arjun Rampal and Akshay Kumar doing lead roles as blind men . Hrithik Roshan came as a mentally challenged boy in 'Koi Mil Gaya' but the turning point was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Black'.

This movie changed the point of view of millions who used to look on these kinds of people otherwise. Over the time, many producers thought that it is a good idea to weave stories of these characters as they generate first hand sympathy in the hearts of viewers.

So, in the coming days one can see Kareena playing a blind in 'Chup Chup Ke', Kajol too as a blind in 'Fanaah', a group of deaf, blind and so on. The latest addition to this list is director Indra Kumar's film 'Pyare Mohan' where we see lead characters as blind and deaf.

This is an irony that Indra Kumar who moved in the big league of directors with his films like 'Dil', 'Beta', 'Raja' and 'Ishq', and had his own unique style of filmmaking is now following others and lost his position as a leader.

He made 'Mast' and earned some a good money , but has now come out with 'Pyare Mohan' to lose all that he has earned in so many years. He will lose his image too.

'Pyare Mohan' has two actors - Fardeen Khan and Vivek Oberoi - who are desperate to make a hit to count among the league of good actors. Offer from Indra Kumar was such that they couldn't possibly resist .

Two boys -- one deaf and another dumb helping two beautiful girls who are in deep trouble sounds an interesting idea! But, to conceive a plot is very different from executing the same. Fardeen Khan plays Pyare and Vivek Oberoi Mohan.

They are part of a group of stuntmen. Fate makes both of them meet with an accident, but both survive. Pyare loses his sight whereas Mohan is no more able to listen to worldly sounds.

Dejected and with no help coming from anywhere they start running a gift shop. They yearn for romance in their lives and come across two sisters - Preeti (Esha Deol) and Priya (Amrita Rao) .

The girls too respond softly as any girl would do when in trouble. But, the boys think otherwise; their hearts break as the girls leave for Bangkok saying they just can be friends. On their flight to Bangkok they get entangled in a legal suite as a don (Boman Irani) frames them in a murder case that is actually committed by him.

The girls are not safe even behind the bars because the don wants them to be finished anyhow. Pyare and Mohan learn this and fly to Bangkok to help these girls .

The boys have to encounter don's brother (Snehal Dabhi) before they can make the world safe for the girls. And, then every thing goes like in any other film. The story ends on a happy note giving the viewers the impression that they lived happily thereafter.

Director Indra Kumar earned a name for himself when he delivered hits after hits. 'Dil' was the best takeoff film for him with Aamir and Madhuri Dixit, superstars of those days.

And, now he has landed with a film that has not even a single super star of today. Not even one face has the value to draw initials. Pyare Mohan can be seen as the worst film of Indra Kumar's career because not even a single department of the film earns passing marks.

The plot lacks interesting story. Milap Zaveri's dialogues are just common. Anu Malik who made a hue and cry when his music was sidelined in his last film 'Humko Deewana Kar Gaye', has done nothing to prove his credentials.

His tunes have lost the sheen and he must once again come out with some fresh compositions. Not even Sunil Patel could do justice to beautiful locales of Bangkok.

With a film that has no support from technical departments, no one can expect wonders. We have Fardeen Khan trying to enact a role that has been the toughest one even for veterans.

And, then we have Vivek Oberoi who once touted as the next big thing in Bollywood. Post -Chandu Nagre in 'Company', Vivek has learned nothing. And, to make things worse, he has now even started going down from where he started. He looks bad; his emotions are horrible and his comedy a trash.

Esha Deol and Amrita Rao must have done this film because of their faith in director Indra Kumar. But after seeing the end results now they many never do a film with him.

Boman Irani is losing his reputation too doing these kinds of roles.

On the whole, Pyare Mohan does not hold any interest for the viewers and will be remembered as the lowest one in the career of its director.
